Crazy week... bad stuff... great news

I have been replacing people in 3 jobs over he week. It has been a bit crazy.

Our vacation plans are a bit stressful. The festival I am planning to be at with my students and to do workshops at... I just lost half the teaching staff for. And M-SB doesn't want to come either. Ug. And the Coven vacation camping... well we JUST found out that we need to have registration in by July 1st! And one dedicant can't go due to work (been there... she will go next year) and the other two can't drive. So now we try to get some coordination figured out. My summer was not supposed to be stressful.

The really great news though: FINALLY HAVE LOCATION FOR HANDFASTING!!!

Yes, I got the confirmation that we may have Hurley's Irish Pub for the handfasting (for free!!!). Now I can work on invitation and hopefully get them out early July.

Star Wars Litha

This was an absolutely amazing ritual using our modern mythology!
It was a ton of fun... can't wait till Yule.

GREAT WORK t! !!

THANK YOU FOR A FUN AND WELL ILLUSTRATED RITUAL!!

Once upon a time, people learned about the myths and reasons for their religion and cultural traditions through rituals and celebrations which re-enacted these stories. In our modern society, what myths and stories make up our understandings, religious views and cultural practices? Who are our modern heroes and heroines?

Star Wars is a classic. Thanks again!

New Location for Handfasting

Everyone cross your fingers!!! We might get the upstairs of Hurley's for the day of October 15 for the Handfasting... and they will do the catering! I hope to get a confirmation Monday... and hope it doesn't cost much.

Suevived!!!

OMG! I just managed to survive subbing this grade 5 class that NO ONE wanted. I understand why, now. I thankfully NEVER have to deal with them again.

Weekend

Well, this has been a blah and exciting weekend at once.

Saturday, I thought I was going to die of boredom at the vet clinic. But then, later I received a delivery of flowers from my Grandmother for my graduation. (I am going to call her today to thank her.) Then I had to prep my level 2's for their nearly last class. But I got the leave them in my co-teacher's capable hands for their 3rd meditation. I got home to cleaning. That night our coven met for their 1st test. ALL DID WELL! YAY! The dedicants will plan the next Sabbat (Midsummer) together for the coven.

Sunday was a great day that ended badly. I started the day by corrupting Autumn with the Star Wars Galaxies game. Muwahahaha! Then we took our level 3's to explorenodes and ley lines in NDG. Shame they were all negative. Monkland is a positive one, as is Sherbrooke, but you can barely sense anything they are so wide. I finished the day sick... really sick. Not sure what I ate... but it did not sit well, or I had too much sun. I had to ask Jen to finish the kennel for me.

I woke this morning still not feeling great and turned down a $180 day of subbing at elementary school.

:(

Today I have to reach Concordia and sort out the problem with my degree and contact Hurley's to see if we can get handfasted in their second floor.

Substitute Teaching

Well, I am up much too early in the morning. I never seem to get a vacation in the Summer. I always end up working for everyone taking vacations. I need a few solid undisturbed weeks to sleep, relax and then get my **** together. Maybe in July?

Today, I sub at an elementary school for Grade 5 (with a 1 hour slot in Grade 6). I did this last week, and it wasn't too bad. I hope to reign them in a bit better this week. The pay is good, about $180 for 7 hrs (that's $25/hr) but really about $30 per hour since there are taxes. Those Money Spring Rolls must be working.

Wish me luck. I'll be home for 3:30pm (i like this school for finishing early, just not for starting so early). i will sleep as soon as I get home.

Convocation Day

Had my grad ceremoney today... way too early in the morning with long standing lines to wait in. The speaches were long but moving and revolved around "Wisdom" (personified as feminine) and diversity in community. Adrianna Clarkson (I know i have this spelled wrong) was also there. The fucked up my degree and gave me a Magor Religion when it is supposed to be an Honous with Distinction. GGRRRRrrrrrr.

Later went to see Harry Potter. Awesome film... some great previews... and the dementors DO NOT look like Nasgul to me!!!

CMS Journal

At the recent Esbat ritual led by the Level 3B students, there were some of the magical food projects present during the feast. I promised to journal their experience.

Cognizant Tonic
for courage, focus & tenacity
This was a hot alcoholic tonic that was very bitter and bland... definately NOT to my taste. BUT Autumn found it very cleansing and clearing and I discovered it to be a very clearing "wake up & focus" kind of bad medicine.

Picnic Loaf
for kinship
This was AWESOME! Delicious! It really felt like something to share with community and friends for fun and relaxation. I had 2 pieces!

Spring Rolls
for money & protection
DELICIOUS! The mint was a surprize! MMMmmmm Mint and chicken DO go together... who'da thunk?! It was so good I had 2 or 3 helpings! I needed the money... and guess what!?! I have substitute teaching days at elementary at $160/day!! BLING! Success! Great job Nat and Laura.

Strawberry Soup
for love (& protection if you added the blueberries)
OOOOOoooooooooohhhhhhhh! This was sinfully good! I just wanted more and more and more. Was that a recipe we gave you? If it is I will look it up. If it wasn't, please post the recipe. I want to share that with my husband in a nice private ritual... mmmmm....

Grad Update

Well, I got my grad gown and hood (pale blue inside my hood). Unfortunately, there is no news about what degree I grad with. The committee that meets to make these decisions with odd cases like mine will be meeting tomorrow. I should know Monday... I hope.

Grad

Well, today I will go get my Grad gown and stuffs. I also pick up the tickets for my grad. I get 3-4 tickets ... so ... my parents, M-SB, and his mom (if I get 4). I will also go see the Registrar and try to find out whether I am grad as Honours or not. They still haven't gotten back to me on this issue. I will keep everyone posted.

This my first! And it was fun as i had already mentioned. Some photos are now available!
