Updates

This is both a pre-apology and a warning to all... I may not be myself for a while. Several very big stressors have come up in my family over the past month and and shifts into a more serious gear for the coming month. I am finding myself sometimes reacting before thinking. So I am warning people to PLEASE do not take anything personally ... and I am apologizing now in case I i forget later.

What is actually up?
1- both my parents are in medical tests for various stuff
2 - my dad is waiting to hear if he needs surgery or kidney transplants
3- my mom has gallstones and needs surgery... but has other issues in testing (i hope to find out results soon)
4 - my niece definately has thyroid cancer and they are scheduling her for the earliest possible surgery... i don't know when yet.

Of I don't know how many baby mice... there are only 3. Just 3. But these 3 are doing well and growing nicely.

Rememberance Day

I don't do the Flanders Field thing. We never read it in school. My grandfather though... he would recite it and march in the parade with the other veterans. Instead, I recite the poem he wrote instead.

Wednesday CMS Level 1 Sabbat Feast

This is such an awesome group! Last Wednesday, after the main chunk of class we did a mini-celebration. Fabiola cast Circle and the students embodied the Elements beautifully. (Everyone passed that part!) We then followed it up with a feast. Each student was to bring in food associated with a Sabbat (teachers included).

Lammas Food: Scarlet (moi)
Honeyed Baby Carrots with Onions
Corn Meal Muffins
(3+) Bean Salad
Berry Juice

Everyne loved the carrots (there were none left to take home) and the salad (only one serving left of that!). The corn meal muffins didn't go so well. Sometimes, I make them and they are incredibly yummy... I wasn't satisfied myself... and it showed that the group though the same. There was so much available for beverage that was soooo very yummy that the juice never got opened.

Mabon : no one had it

Samhain : Fabiola (TA)
Farmer's Market Dutch Crumb-top Apple Pie

Always yummy. Though this was a bought one. I did not eat the crust... found that part overcooked. I also prefer my apple pies heated with a scoop of chocolate icecream on the side.

Yule : Mylene
Eggnog (spiced and with Rum)
Rum Balls rolled in Coconut

The rum balls were not what I had expected and did not have any chocolate in them. they were heavy but delicious just the same. And the eggnog was quite good. I personnally prefer spiced non-alcoholic eggnog for Yule.

Imbolc : Lyllyth
Non-Alcoholic Brigit's Divine Wine
Brigit's Special Hummus

The wine and hummus both came from Sabbat or seasonal Pagan cookbooks, which is fine! Great research! Lyllyth replaced the alcohol part of the wine recipe with Cranberry juice... and it was absolutle amazing! The Hummus was very interesting... no tahini in it. It was a bit strong on the garlic ( fine for me because I love garlic, but not everyone does).

Ostara : no one had it

Beltaine : Philip
Aubergine (Eggplant) Curry
Mushrooms in White Wine
May Wine (fruit wine)
Strawberries & Cream

MmmmmMMmmm... Spicy aubergine! We really needed some bread to go with that! It was fantastic! The mushrooms... well.. good try! I like mushrooms... but these were quite bland. Sorry. The May Wine was absolutely delicious! I could have had several glasses before I would realize the alcohol hitting me ... it was that yummy! And well, strawberries and cream are always a way to win this teacher over! Hehe.

Litha : Amy
Clementines (fresh)

This was pleasant to see as well. I don't eat oranges myself, but I did take two for the husband who does. The classroom smelled wonderful after everyone else peeled their oranges!

Great work class! This was one of the best ritual feasts EVER!!! I hope that public ritual come back to this with the pride of home-made Sabbat-related pot luck featss.

New trailer is out for the Episode III at www.starwars.com

And... they have a shop with a Wish List option... guess what I did this Morning. Hehe... evil...
I found that there are other videos (DVD) of things like SW Manga and anime, as well as the 2 ewok movies!

I am a Star Wars Geek... and yes still hooked in the SWG online game. I am still regularly adding to the character journal for Scar'let Firecat, too.

Pained and Frustrated

I have pulled and strained the muscles in my right shoulder rather badly somehow. Happened Saturday night? I dunno what I did. Wish I did so I could know never to do it again. I was in pain all Sunday. Extra Strength Excedrin did not help (only made me nautious after the 3rd dose). I hoped it would ease some with rest and no working it. I got up this morning thinking... hmmm... not too bad. Drove it at 8AM to help teach grade 4 and found out I actually wasn't needed. Fine. Came home... and the pain rose along the drive and kept rising. I finally got fed up. I walked over to Concordia's new Sports Medicine clinic on the corner of Sherbrooke and Cavendish. But my doctor could not see me till Friday morning. And no other doctor was available. SHIT. Their advice till then? Take some regular painkillers with ibuprofen in them. Try heating the muscles with a heating pad. Get the neck and shoulders massaged. Keep your arm in a sling till we see you. Great. Or go to the hospital... NO WAY! I am not an emergency... just in pain and thoroughly annoyed that is is interfering with my life and required work activity.

People who know me... know how I am about being immobilized in any way.

Dinner Party

This evening the Canadian Covens had a dinner party... It was awesome! I got to dress up. I dared wear a dress I would not normally wear to any PUBLIC event but felt I could wear to this... and heck... it is an opportunity to just dress up and have fun! The dress is all black with a very low cut open back that shows the 4-inch tattoo I have at the base of my spine. I am a bit nervous in it and feel a bit naked (you just CAN'T wear a bra with THIS). I few others dressed up too. We chatted, ate great food, the hospitality was fine and well Facilitators may now be regretting their dedicants considering the discussion topics... hehe... ok maybe not... it was all good! Should do something like this again!

Didn't I overhear someone at the table offer their home for the next one?

Culling Responsibilities

I went to my Mom's yesterday. We had some serious talks about my parents' health issues that are arising. It is tough being her confident. I am used to Mom being MY confident. But now the roles in life begin to reverse. *deep breath*

I need to do some serious responsibility culling... cut back on things that take up time and or stress me. So First of all, I will not be standing for another position in the MPRC (Montreal Pagan Resource Centre) Board of Direstors. Second, I will wean off being there for Fabiola in the CMS Level 1 class on Wednesday nights, only being there for the days where new material is covered. The class is going well. I feel confident that she can handle it. She is getting better at managing the time (not perfect, but better). I have delegated an assignment out... someone else will make the CMS Evaluation forms. I should delegate out the CMS Level 1 Deities textbook too. It is stressful trying to work on these books, figure out the finances, look for a new location (which is still unsuccessful) and plan classes to teach. On top of it, I work a day at the store and 2 days at the vet clinic. I will drop all the Thursday classes I have planned (except the Tarot 1 class coming up). I want to pass up Level 2... but I like the group and want to see them grow.

Today I print CMS level 1 books, work at the store and pass off level 1 to Fabiola.
Tomorrow I will start serious housecleaning.
Friday I plan classes for the weekend and continue housecleaning.
Saturday I work at the vet, teach level 2, then go out for a Canadian covens dinner.
Sunday I work at the vet and plan for a Handfasting MS-B and I have to lead (for Nov 20)
Monday I go help my mom teach grade 4.
Tuesday I work on CMSLC finances and printing and planning.
Wednesday I work at the store.
Thursday I work on the house (sorting and cleaning).
Friday I plan the level 2 and 4 classes and enjoy my free time.

Voices from the ancestors

Advice and wisdom through the meditations:

  1. It is fine to love many... but love your one most of all.
  2. Live the life you want to live the way you want to live it... and everything else (finances included) will all fall into place.
  3. Reclaim your sacred day and enjoy it.
