One of THOSE strange days

I woke this morning in a rush thinking M-SB was still asleep beside me and that he was late for work. I am sure he lept from bed and and i fell back asleep thinking damn... i will have to get up in 10min to dress and drive him in. But it didn't happen. 30min passed and I got up again... But he was gone. So now I have this befuddled what just happened feeling. I even had to call him at work (via MSN and confirm all this. It never happened. He was up and out as scheduled. Wierd!!!

Bleh!

I forgot to turn my alarm on and nearly was late for work at the vet clinic this morning. The day there was DEAD!!! And I could barely get my head around doing the basic tasks left to me. I ended up late leaving having to wait for a client to come drop off their cat for boarding. Ran home grabbed pizzas and changed my shirt. I still had to do photocopies before teaching my class. The copy place was busy and I has to wait... I tried to phone to let someone know, but my cell ran out of battery. I was late coming to class, glad that my co-teacher started without me.

The class she led was great! It was about meditation and led some fantastic guided meditations that helped rebalance me nicely. Unfortunately, all the students were so ... their energy was still in the low frequencies of the meditation class that even sending them out for a break didn't help gear them up for tackling the dynamic and contraversial subjects of sex, gender, and religion. I was drained by the end of the class.

When I came home, I was no longer hungry for the supper that M-SB was going to cook for us and I just crashed in bed till... well... now. WHat a day. What was in the AIR!?! Grrruummbble...

Busy day ahead

When is it not?!?

Well this morning, I will be having breakfast with this older woman from Germany/France. She is a psychologist who has been living here for only 6 months. I met her at the photocopy centre. She was making copies of the Myers-Briggs test. I was thinking... hmmm... *I have some potential Leadership students who will need to take this officially* and she was looking over at my stuff with equal interest. She asked me about astrology and where shoul could get information on esoteric stuff around Montreal. *DING* We agreed to do breakfast and talk about our shtuff.

Then I have to run back to the store, as I forgot my paycheck. DOH!!! And have to poke into the PO BOX. I have some letters to mail, too. Damn. M-SB still needs to get addresses for some of those.

Must buy a box of ZipLock baggies and continue my chopping and freezing.

Somewhere in the day, I need to tackle some cleaning and plan my Intro to Teaching class for tomorrow night. Good thing I have Friday off.

AND... I want to pick up M-SB from work and go to IKEA to see about a shelf and look at round tables. He wants to look at desks, I think.

Movies...

M-SB and I went to see the movie Sky Captain on the weekend. It wasn't spectacular as stories go, but the genre and presentation was fantastic. I learned that is was originally a 1930's comic.

And while there... I noticed that there will be a movie based on the books "Series of Unfortunate Events" which looks promising. I never read the series... but I know an Owl really enjoys them. Hmmm... wonder if she knows of the upcoming flick? Well, she reads this blog now and then... so if she doesn't... she will soon.

Harvest Failures...

:-(

Well, I tried to make pear juice last night with a bunch of pears. I don't know what I did wrong... but BLEH!

I have several foods now from my harvest trip... and no one to help prepare them. So much for a preserving party. I guess M-SB and I will be busy during today and this evening... ans spare moments throughout the week.

The cantaloup is on today's agenda, as are the peppers.

Harvest Success

I spent like $40 and returned with lots of peppers, some red onions, cantaloups, corn on the cob, pears, apples, apples for M-SB's hamster (nanaru), a small piece of honey comb, a speggetti squash and a large apple square (like a date square... but with apples instead of dated). Mmmmm... and the elderlay wisewoman a t the far end stall where I exclusively get my squashes and cantaloups instructed me on how to make a Cantaloup preserve.

Blend to puree the cantaloup
add sugar to taste
add some fresh orange juice with pulp
and a touch of cinnamon

I will try this with the very very ripe cantaloup I got (and make juice with the rest). She has the best prices on all her harvest foods and is always willing to give advice like this. She wants to pass on what she can before her time is up. I hope she is around for a long while yet.

Tomorrow, some of my students might show up to help me with the chopping and freezing. DAMN... I forgot to buy ziplock baggies. I will do that tonight.

Harvest Tide: Celebrating the Equinox

The fall Equinox is coming up. Today I start my celebration of it by heading out to the Atwater Market to buy some things (Bell Peppers especially) to freeze and preserve over the winter. This is my annual celebration. I go buy fresh foods and spend a couple days preparingthem to store for the winter. It saves LOTS on both time and money over the winter. I won't need to buy peppers at $3.00 a pepper in the winter since I am buying and preserving them now at $0.75 a pepper. Just as an example. Sometimes, i have a "Preserving Party" where folks come over and help me chop, steam, blanch, boil to mush, can or freeze. They get the opportunity to learn how it is done... or teach me some new tricks!

Later all! I am off to the Market!

Star Wars Fun

For those who wonder what is keeping me sane and what I am having a blast occupying what little free time I have... it is Star Wars Galaxies. This is an Online Roleplaying 3D interactive game. My character has an online journal about her experiences in this universe.... I am having... believe it or not... FUN... and with a computer game no less. My character is Scar'let Firecat, a fiesty Zabrak who escaped slavery. You can find her story here:

You may need to back track some to see her evolution... but well... enjoy.

ZZZZZzzzzZZZzzzzzz.....

Someone slipped sedatives or sleeping drugs into the air or something!

Because... everyone was so very asleep today, from the husband, to the clients, to the vet, to customers, to teachers, to the students... EVERYONE....

Except me who was happily wired on an Energy Drink...

Awesome!!! Awesome class!!!

This evening was amazing! We had a great class. I love this group. I can really get into good thoughtful discussions and deep exploration. This was the first time I was teaching the subject: Intro to Leadership. I spent most of yesterday planning it while I was helping my Mom with the kindergarten class. Then worked a bit more on it last night and today. It went real well. They seemed to really enjoy it!

I also got a box in the mail today... for Crescent Moon Spiritual Learning Centre! Weehee! It was the booklet with 200 business checks (the CMSLC in the header) and deposit slips (dunno how to use those yet). Sometime this weekend I will get through the financing updates and issue out some checks.

Tomorrow I teach a new group of Level 2 students. I am getting back into the swing of things. I wish I could do this full time. I LOVE this job.

Kindergarten

WOOHOO!!! I survived helping teach Kindergarten! I help my mom out today. There were a few surprises for the day in the classroom. A wonderful and dynamic Educational technician stagiere was there. She was great! And there are a shadow who was just fantastic with a little girl who needed the careful attention. The was another educational technician, however, who was too harsh I think on the little girl and tried to tell the new shadow how to treat the child and then was domineering with other kids. I never want her in my class... no matter what the problem child is. I am not ethically comfortable with her approach.

All in all... I survived and don't think I was really needed. I did however get my class on Intro to Leadership all planned out. That will be an amazing Friday night! I can hardly wait!

Day After Tomorrow

This was a very interesting movie. The special effects were spectacular. I wish I saw it on the big screen! The story was weak and the characters not well developed, but the story had an important message. I wonder if anyone will think on it seriously.

Day After Tomorrow has its own website with interesting footage and articles about global warming. Check it out!

Cousin's Wedding

Well... that was not nearly as bad as I was expecting. The service was in the Church of St-Andrews & St-Paul. It started a bit late (1:20 pm instead of 1pm) but was nice and simple and lasted only about 30min. The longest part was after when everyone had to procession past the Couple, wedding party and the couple's parents to shake hands, kiss cheeks and give introductions. There were about 150 people in total... probably less. By the time we got out and past the photos, it was nearly 3pm, so I did not have time to get home and change and get back to teach the CMS Level 2 class with Autumn. I hope it went well. I also hope her Level 1 class went well earlier.

We got home around 3pm and had late lunch. Then crashed for a nap from 4-7pm. We showed up at the reception at almost 8pm. I was worried about it at first. It too was simple. Food was buffet: sushi, somosas, fruit and a few other interesing things. Drinks were a tiny stall with a woman selling beers and sodas and a few hard drinks. The decor was simple here too. The DJ was great! I met some folks that were family.... I also met some friends I did not know would be there! The dancing picked up after a couple hours to fantastic 80's music.

It went real well. I hope ours goes so well in April.

Wedding and bad week

Well... the whole week did not go as planned. I was exhausted or sick and frustrated. It was a bad week in general. I didn't even manage to find a suitable bra for the new fancy shirt i am wearing to MS-B's cousin's Wedding.

Today is the Wedding. I hop all goes well.

On another good not. The new CMS Level 1 class Fabby & I taught is a great group! And I hear that despite them not knowing why I assigned Crowley's "Book of the Law", the CMS Level 4 class went real well too. It is a shame several of the potential Level 3's did not make it to the Level 4. I hope they are doing well. I hear they are studying under someone else to see what that is like. Fantastic! That is a good way to understand different practices. But it would have been nice to know directly.

WW and I had a long talk about a tarot reading he had when we went comping. I hope it helped.

Not as planned...

Well Sunday did NOT go as planned. I just SOOOooo crashed. I was so exhausted that I crawled back into bed at noon (after being up at 8AM) and slept till 4PM. So, I never got out to my parents' house. GROAN...

I am still burnt from the past few weeks.

I hope to get the CMS stuff together today, tend the kennel and get SOME laundry done...

Success!

Well, yesterday, M-SB took me shopping for something to wear to his cousin's Wedding (which is next Saturday!) and lo and behold... we found a nice shirt to go with my bergundy skirt. I never... and mean NEVER have this kind of luck alone!!! I like to shop... but not when I HAVE to shop. When I HAVE to shop for something, I am impatient, easily frustrated and discouraged, and never seem to find what I need.

The week was BUSY!!! The upcoming week isn't much better...

Today:
- M-SB's mom comes buy with his hemmed suit
- we pack up laundry
- we go to my mom's to do laundry, clean the cars (a promise that needs fulfilling), and clean the camping gear
- take care of two houses' pets
- Kennel duty

Tomorrow:
- Kennel Duty
- Prepare everything for starting CMS
- clean CMS area
- collect any funds for CMS
- sort the finances

Tuesday will be full of photocopying for CMS.
Wednesday I work and teach the first CMS-L1 class.

After that... things are bit muddled... I will have to look at my agenda later.
