Weekend fun ended bad

I had a great time this weekend. Mike, the CMS Tennessee (?sp) student was visiting. He is a great guy. We had fun. He endured me dragging him about for by busy weekend. I also crammed into his head 1/3 of the Level 1 material in like 24 hrs and subjected him to the first 2 films. He survived. :)

Unfortunately, I had some food that was very yummy Sunday night that so very did not agree with me by Monday morning. I was sick... uber sick. I could not drive Mike to the airport and had to send him on a taxi. :(

He hopes I can visit him before he deploys in the Fall. I will try. I don't get as many holidays as he does... as usually I am working on the holidays replacing people who are gone. Mayb during the week, like when I went to Ohio. Hmm... I will think on that.

Right now, I am cleaning house for a very important ritual tonight.

story exerpt

I am feeling much better. Sleep can really do wonders sometimes. I edited my chapter 2 starting paragraphs of my book for Star Wars Galaxies. I like it. I will share it here:

An elderly woman in plain ochre robes administered a med shot to the volunteers and guards meant to protect the clients in their stasis units. She pondered the impact on the Force and wondered if this was Fate. As she looked at each one, touched their bare flesh, she got a glimpse of what was ahead of them. It pained her to know that most of them will not see the journey through, even if their charges did. She looked at them all and sighed. Having assisted with this before, she knew that only Zabrak survive. So why didn’t the request for bodyguards stipulate Zabrak only? Maybe it did. Maybe the clients didn’t have Zabrak among their staff. Zabrak are headstrong and usually small community folk. Very proud. Few would even take such a journey. She, as a human, so hoped to be able to join the temple on the other side. But alas, her age and her injuries from an attack so long ago meant she would never survive this trip. Her last patient arrived. She looked into the cool blue eyes of a young Zabrak woman with a fiery stripe of hair between her small horns. On this young face were the familiar three vertical stripes she earned at the age of 15 when she took vows. The face was so familiar that the elderly woman’s eyes filled with tears. “My firecat?” she whispered uncertainly.

Scar’let glanced about nervously, still shy to the closeness and touch of others. Looking into this woman’s face she recognized the priestess from her old temple. The very one who applied the tattoos on her face in a soft henna rusty-brown. Scar’let smiled. This woman would not harm nor betray her. They spoke a bit and the old woman cried.

The elderly priestess handed Scar’let the contact information for the temple on the other side. She beamed with pride and joy that this one survived the attack on the temple those many years ago. She prayed that this will be a safe escape and that this young woman will find peace on the other side, peace and a thriving temple of caring people. She took the Zabrak’s arm and pushed up the sleeve. For the briefest moment she was startled by the inch-wide band of scar tissue around Scar’let’s wrist. Then she deftly administered the injection of a drug that would keep this bodyguard from degeneration on this journey. They bowed reverently to each other. And parted ways… forever.

Bad Day au but...

I woke at like 6AM for no reason... it took an hour to get back to sleep and 10min later the noise blared from the tow-trucks for the plowing. I had to pull on pants and run to move my car. No socks... snow in my shoes... grrr. Came back in and got ready for work at the vet clinic. Did my morning routine stuff and looked at the clock. 8:15AM. Doh! I didn't need to be at work till 9:30AM. *sigh* So I went to lie down. I started to drift comfortably when the 9:30 alarm went off. Grrrr....

Then came the menstral cramping. I don't have time for this!!!

I headed over to the clinic. UGH!!! the vet and I had to SHARE a computer. This meant everytime I got up she switched programs to do medical filing and I had to boot her off to serve the clients. Made her real cranky. Then she got more cranky when she could not print the files because the printer would not work. And then mad at me because I could not reach the guy to fix them and then mad at me because I told her she would have to do the med files by hand. 4 10min clients turned into 4 hours work. Then she was mad that the place was all disorganized. The vet clinic is getting new computers and a new program system to work from. Thus all the chaos. And the guys setting things up can't seem to get the job right. *GRRRRR* And I got dumped on for 4 hours because of it. I was then another hour just sorting out things and hand writing all the sales reports.

Meant that i had to inhale a sandwich while severely cramping. I tried to blog in my character journal to calm my nerves before heading out to teach a class. I also quickly printed off the memo's I had to hand out to the students. Rushed out to pick up my co-teacher and get gas.

Class... was a bliss!! This is a great group and the material is awesome. This was a highlight to the day. At least till a crisis hit and I had to deal with a phone call and some panic. I think it is relatively sorted... but was frustrating none the less. Drove home and picked up toilet paper on the way.

Got in and cramped REAL BAD!!! Mark made burgers... I was almost too sick and stressed to eat. I ate one while bloggin in the character journal and having a cat in my lap. The cat sooooooooooooooooo soothed the cramping. Cloak got much treats for that! I vented a bit and hugged Mark as the coveners arrived. Then Mark found that Claok treated himself to my second burger. *rolls eyes* ~~sigh~~

Coven went well. I just sat and we all talked and planned ritual and reviewed lessons and joked. I didn't have to get up. The cramping was still bad. When they left I tried to occupy myself on the computer reviewing the book I am writing. I edited one paragraph. While I talked with WinterWolf on MSN, I just stared at one line in the book... for like 20min.

I was exhausted... and cramped. So I went to lie down. Mark came and snuggled with me. *yay* It was so soothing and comforting. After a bit I stared to feel better and I think I babbled his ear off. So... here I am. Back online.

I know... Long time...

I know I know... I have neglected this blog. I just was not in the mood for a while.

So here is a little update.
The mice are happily breeding and I can now feed my snakes this weekend.
The family is having its ups and downs, my niece goes back for surgery (good wishes to her from everyone), and I still need to get yule gifts out to my brother and his family. DOH!!

I have had a few financial hickups... but I think I have them under control now.

Crescent Moon kicks off its first week of the new session. I am SO PROUD of the students so far... and BIG CONGRATS to the grads!!! Rosanne did another phenomenal ritual.

Oh! I found my thesis at last. So, I will begin to look it over and try to get that finished before the end of the month. I want to register for the Masters program. But first have to fulfill a promise to the teacher who gave me an A on the unfinished thesis.

I have still been spending time in SWG and have been busily working on the character blogs, the book (yes... i am converting what i do in the game into a book... hell if someone can publish their character stuff, why the hell can't i?) and website!

OH HEY!!! Montreal's Magical Circle just changed hosting... and has some new stuff up!!! Please keep in mind that it is a work in progress and i will make changes each week.

Ok... gotta run folks!
