Mania

Today has been a day of manias: Cleaning mania, fanfic mania, gardening mania. Well the cleaning turned out to be not so much a mania. It felt like a mania considering the amount of dishes I had to do ofer baking and cooking of mass ammounts of meals for the week. The fanfic took up most of the day. I was inspired and so managed to write like 4 pages!! YAY! And as for the gardening... that actually happened this evening. I picked up M-SB from work (where I got free ice cream... mmmm.... ) and we went shopping. We picked up some groceries, including a little rice cooker and a deep fryer. He is so geeked out over his deep fryer. LOL! Then we spent too much at the gardening center, but I is VERY happy!

Our garden is nearly complete! The garden started with last year's, thymes, oregano, marjoram, lavendar, artemesia, and some surviving carnations. The neighbors white onions and chive patch and their many flowers. My bleeding heart bush that actually came back! Then I added carrot seeds in two rows and a bunch of red onions. In a pot went grape tomatos. Today, we bought bell peppers, curly lettuce, ground cherries, strawberries (perennial everbearing), Savory, rue, chamomile, more carnations, and some flowers and leafy stuff for the balcony boxes. I also planted blassed seeds from the Toronto Pagan Conference. M-SB got a variety of super hot peppers. I need to get some marigolds to ward off bugs in the vegetable patch and need some more herbs. But that will be next week. Thank you my love for the garden. It makes me extremely happy!

The only problem with todays evening gardening is that now I am in so much back.hip pain that my drugs with codine didn't even help. *sigh* worth the pain though. I have a garden. I planted it myself. I enjoyed sticking my hands into the earth and walking barefoot in it. Yes, I am wierd like that. The whole expereince felt like an honoring of my grandfather who loved gardening and taught me what I know of it. Many of the things I have planted are blessed and dedicated in his name. Thank you Grampa for teaching me to garden and instilling in me this love for growing things.

Good Weekend... tho not as much done as I wanted.

Yup, it was truly a good weekend. Saturday especially. Sunday was a bit hectic but also good. I got only about 1/3 of the cleaning done than I wanted. Th bedroom and livingroom got dusted. Everything got a rough vacuuming. The dishes were all done... though now there are a ton more after coven, baking and supper (including the mass amounts of shepard's pie i also made for lunches). The evening became a major cooking fest! So I still feel accomplished. Today, I want to drag M-SB out back before I go to work and finish up the garden preparations. We got 10 bags of earth for a new section of garden. And I have to move a couple things around, like the strawberries. Then I am off to work!

Gordon was supposed to retouch my triskele tattoo, but I don't have the money or time this week for it. I will arrange to do so next week. This week, I have to drive people home after work and check on Roo's household in the evenings. I miss her. She will be back Friday. My evening plan, after I get back from Roo's, is to dust the kitchen, dust the offices, clean the bathroom, sweep the stairs, do laundry.

Tuesday will be a bigger day to doing stuff. Tuesday I will give the house a THOROUGH vacuuming and mopping. Then I will sort my offcie and put up my curtains and clean my geckos. If there is time and energy after that, I will go scrub my bike and put air in the tires.

The really really big job that I want to do with M-SB will have to wait till next weekend. I want to take out the windows from their frames and clean them all really well.

Garden

So... I find I have less than nothing in my bank account. Ah well. With my bit of cash I bought a grape tomato plant and a perennial everbearing strawberry plant. The strawvberry plant is in the spot i designated under the stairs for it with my herb garden. The herbs are doing AMAZING! I think tomorrow I will cut them back a bit and have fresh hanging herbs in the house. The tomato plant went into a pot on my back balcony. I desperately need to get more earth for it. No poppies have sprouted yet. *sad* I hope they come up at some point. I need to keep them watered more. My carnations are almost ready to bloom this year. YAY! After they bloom, i will cut them back and transplant them to a better place. I dug out some seeds and stuff and planed red onions with the white onions. The neighbors already havew the white onions and they are coming up quite nicely. Now there are a bunch of red onions planted among them. I hope they grow well. I also planted two rows of carrots. I hope they do well too. I wanted to get some romaine lettuce and ground cherries and a bunch of other herbs, and some peppers... but those will have to wait till next week. I am thinking that I will put Impatients and Coleus in my boxes on the front balcony... along with some scented geraniums.

When M-SB gets home, I will have him swep away all the spiders and spray spider-bane stuff.

Ok... off now to do the in-house stuff.

Bock on track! or online!

YAY! I have a telephone!! The problem was some cable outside my house that was fixed last night. The internet... who the hell knows. Some fiddling here and there and suddenly... VOILA!

Today, MS-B is out moving someone. I am home alone. That's fine. I have lots to do. And now that it does feel completely sweltering, I can do it without being sick. Yesterday I suffered some unpleasant heat sickness. It was unpleasant at night. I was nauseous and headachy most of the night and every little thing upset me. Cats. Crickets. Beling hot. Much better now. I am going to go have breakfast.

The day's plan:
- check out graden center for plants and maybe do some gardening
- wash dishes
- dust all the rooms
- vacuum everywhere
- sweep the stairs
- mop everywhere, even the stairs
- scrub my bike
- sort my office
- install the new curtains I made from the Chinese brocade I got
- clean the geckos tanks

My new betts is very happy and so very beautiful! I just had to comment as I glompsed him over my shoulder to see him all fanned out and with a great bubble nest already.

Some Good Stuff

Yesterday was a good day once I was out of the house. There are new VooDoo Babies out and I was able to get them set up. Then I was blessedly distracted from my aweful home by the boss, Roo and the children. We went to Canadian Tire, where I got the things I need for cleaning house and fixing up my bike. Then we stopped in the Nature Pet Center in Alexis Nihon and the boss treated me to a beautiful Betta. It was a surprise. I was planning on picking him up myself when she just went ahead and paid for hers and mine together. Thank you! It cheered me much. He is beautiful. Red. Almost dark enough to say black on his head with a delicate black outline on his fins. He is now set up on my Office Altar next to my other Betta. My two little hunters: Ryoshi and Karyuudo.

Today was a bit off putting when I discovered that we had no telephone service. The lines were all dead. But when I called the house from my cell, I got the answering machine. So I don't know what is up with that. The woman on the Bell line was very nice and is sending someone tomorrow between 8am and noon. With luck, I will be all fixed up by then.

My teaching at the elementary school seems good. I picked up the kids projects. Only about half of them handed stuff in. Several forgot and others... well... they were just making excuses. I graded them and still have the grading sheets with me. Their teacher was a bit stressed as I gave homework and the kids were stressed about it and she could not answer their questions. If they would just listen, then there would be no problem with the projects. But these kids have serious listening problems. It is a trend I am seeing these days. I an really concerned about it. Their listening and reading skills are very poor at all grades. I wonder why? Anyways, The grade 4 MRE class I did on Fables went so very very well! They had fun and did great work. I am so very proud of them! I will be at grade 6 on the 7th of June. My mom has them on the 4th. Maybe I can pass my lesson plan to her and they can continue their projects. I wish I could take the day off work and go visit to see how it goes.

Well, at the moment, I am at my mom's doing laundry. Washing those big blankets that never fit in any machines. Mom has the big oversized front-loader machines. I so want these for us. I am also finally making the curtains for my office. I will just need a curtain rod. I will see about stopping at Reno on the way back from caring for Roo's animals and see if I can afford one. It would be real nice if I can have curtains up over the weekend. I am discovering that even with a ruler and straight edge, I cannot seem to cut a straight line. *sigh* I hope my curtains look OK.

Quick Note

I am currently without telephone or internet. There is some problem with Bell Canada. They will be coming over Saturday in the morning. So if you need to reach me, do so by cell phone.

Coven: See you Sunday at 1pm, bring your stones.

Gotta go, posting from the elementary school. Gotta go correct grade 6 avatar projects.

*sigh... grrr... sigh*

Some days...

The cats made a mess of the kitchen, internet has gone wonky, and my computer is having little conniptions. It all kinda happened at the same time and I just wanted to scream. So I left. I am hating a great many things right now. So I am at the MPRC for a break and to be able to use the net and do my banking. I so need a vacation. When I go home, I will do some gardening and fix up my bike. Then clean up the bedroom... *sigh* Vacuum... mop... Damnable kitchen. Damnable cats. *sigh* Kittens. Ninja loves scaring the other cats and bolting around the food dishes, thus... the food is ALL OVER the kitchen. *sigh*

Ok... the plan. RenoDepot for vacuum bags and WD40. Then the garden centre for some plants. It is very beautiful out.

I am looking forward to tomorrow. I go in early to collect the grade 6 Avatar projects to correct and to finish preparing the MRE for grade 4 in the afternoon.

Goal... get the house into a state where will not want to kill husband or cats or both... before Sunday.

failed ?

I failed in my purging and house stuff. I got sucked into an anime: Wolf's Rain. It was nice to relax a bunch today.

I did get a good look at my bike. OY! Needs serious work. Maybe on Tuesday.

The purging... i did a bit in the livingroom, not that you would notice. I did a bunch in my office, but still have not made it to the mystery boxes. There is a TON of stuff I don't know what to do with. It is too important to toss. *sigh* Well at least there is a chunk of FLOOR in my office you can now see!

I did get my prep done for both my grade 6 and grade 4 classes.

Tomorrow night Timid goes to a new home. Yay for a spoiled snaky. Yay for me to have a bit more room for sorting stuff. I have yet to repurge sections of my office. I figure I will have to purge in layers.

I took a clipping from my revived Bleeding Heart bush. It is in a vase looking stunning on my office altar. I even found my soft blue crystal ball.

I think I will write some Fan Fiction while supper cooks.

House stuff

This mornig I drank tea and sat in the garden. It was wonderful. Now I need to get M-SB to dig out the lawn chairs and the bikes. I think that will be on his tasks for the day. I even planted poppy seeds around the composter that is now part of our garden. The neighbors gor it. We will contribute to it as it will feed both our gardens and help the environment.

I am glad I got the day's original plans cancelled for today. I am getting some relax time in for once. We also need to do some serious cleaning after yesterday's cat mess. That begins after lunch. We can't do any washing, though. We have no water. There was a watermain explosion on our street. The city cut the water for everyone while they fix it. I don't know when they will be done.

On today's plan is also setting up the tax stuff so I can call our tax guy and get our taxes done. I need to find my 2005 tax stuff. There is some important information there we need for this year's taxes. Guess sorting the office boxes will come before doing tax stuff.

Also on today's plan, prep some stuff for my grade 6 class. I think I overloaded them last week. I don't think they know what I am looking for for homework. They really need to improve their listening skills. I will prep an example and see about getting it to them tomorrow in the morning. I also have to find Aesop's Fables for my grade 4 MRE class on Friday. I can't find my Aesop's Fables book. I am looking for good stories that have morals to them. I am open to suggestions. Cultural stuff would be really cool too!

The GRRR eased...

I drove M-SB and Roo, not HRH, to the concert last night in the West Island to see our friends play. I was very GRRR all the way there. We got there to a very packed and stuffy and hot and body-smelly room. Thank gods Clyde's finally turned on the ventilation! When I looked at the menu, I saw how expencive it was. If M-SB can afford to buy food for two there, I would rather we get TD cat food instead. Thus I was even more GRRR. We waited about 20min when I finially hunted down a waiter, who said that he and the kitchens were backed up at least 45min or longer. I was ready to completely lose my mind at this point. I *knew* this would happen. This is exactly why I wanted dinner BEFORE we left. I was no longer fit to be around anyone. I was snarling and seriously in KILL mode. I snapped a bit and M-SB and then left. Yup... I left. I walked the entirety of Point-Claire Village trying to calm down enough to be human enough to talk to other humans. The night was beautiful. The Village was also beautyiful. The water of the river soothing. Once calmed, I stopped into a litrle pizza/sub restaurant called Gigi's. Their food was cheap and REALLY good! I drooled at the sight and smell of the pizzas at other tables, but knew I could not eat one alone. So I ordered a small sub which was equally delicious. Fed, I felt much much better and was able to return to the concert.

Now, I could enjoy the concert. And I certainly did. There were lots of new songs from both Invisible and Random Colour. Thanks guys for an awesome concert. I was glad I was there. So the night improved exponentially.

Now with my GRRR eased... I can go about normal day stuff. We cancelled breakfast with the neighbors and cancelled coven due to the cat situation in the house. So I get a day off. I am just finishing a bolw of cereal. I think I will go out into the garden for a bit before it clouds over and rains.

*GRRRRR*

I went from intrigued to bloody furious.I hardly ate all day. One little slice of pizza that tasted NASTY and a cheesy bun from Sam were far from enough food. I expected to have supper when i got in. Nope. Not happening. I have to wait till we get to Clyde's at the concert. Meanwhile I want to kill things and eat the computer. Then I find that their are diarrhea kitty paw prints all over the kitchen floor. Hello! Litter box needed cleaning. Which kitty had bad diarrhea? It was a mess and I cleaned it. The house smells and it gross and I want to kill things. I am *grrr*. I don't want to see or speak to ANYONE and yet have to because I am responsible for driving folks places. I am in the crabbiest mood for having to clean up goopy bloody cat dirrhea and not get supper when I am starving and expected supper.

Facebook

So... store things are now on Facebook and so... now with some peer pressure... so am I. Sucked in....

So Busy... OMGs

So... what have I been doing since...um... last post?

More subbing! I was again in Grade 6 working on the Avatar Project with the kids. They are being so good for me. And they are working. This is an achievement for this group, apparently. Other teachers seem to be impressed. That was Monday.

Tuesday, I headed over to Roo's for an overnight of roleplaying. Then to work at the store for Wednesday. News is that the boss's daughter has been accepted into ECS. AWESOME!

Thursday, I was back in grade 6. Hobbes came to do a workshop for which I am very grateful. The principal was very impressed. The kids loved it. I gave them a ton of stuff to work on. I think I overloaded them. Maybe I will send them an example of what I want on Friday the 25th. I have to see if Mom is going out there anytime soon.

Yesterday, I slept in. OMGs, it was so needed. Getting up at 5:30am to teach at 7:30am is hard! But it is nice to be finished work at 2:30pm and even nicer to get so well paid. I worked at the store in the evening getting caught up on a bunch of stuff.

Today, I am heading out again to the store. I am replacing Eri. I haven't worked a Saturday in a long while. It being beautiful out, I hope the store is busy. Oh... I should get ready to go. CONCERT TONIGHT: Random Colour & Invisible!!

Subbing

I have been so busy this week. I worked at the store monday and Wednesday. Nothing special happened there. Thursday and Friday I have been up in Pierrefond subbing in grade 6. I have gotten them hooked on Avatar! Muwahahahahaha! I have a big project for them and they are loving it. This is good because most teachers hate having them. They are amazing with me. I am very proud of them. Friday I gave them a spelling test. They had to spell the names of the capitals of every province. They had trouble with names like Charlottetown and Fredericton. The most amuzing mistake though was one kid who spelled Whitehorse as white whores. I died of laughter! It is so funny what kids do now and then. Anyways, I have a ton of stories to review that they wrote for their storytelling competition. They have to do them orally with no notes and be within 4 minutes. I am reviewing the written stories and they begin practicing them on Monday. Hmmm... maybe I will ask Hobbes to come in as a guest speaker for them. Have them meet a professional storyteller! Ooooo.... I will call him later and ask! *so excited* I also have their Avatar projects in progress to review and comment on.

Yesterday, M-SB and I went to his Baba's (grandmother's) place for afternoon lunch and tea. It was a small family gathering that was so relaxed. We had tea and coffee and sandwiches with kelbasa (or however the smelly sausage thing is called). I tried capusta which is a cabbage thing like sourkraut but yummy. Then again, I like cabbage. I learned new words in Polish (excluding capusta). I learned Chinkoyeh (thank you), dohbreh (good), and herbata (tea). These I can add to Shpet (wait) and ni (not) or Niet (no).

Today we have breakfast downstairs, any minute now. Then I am off to the store to give a test and correct my kids work and then attend the Golden Dawn's very first public ritual. After, I plan on stopping in briefly at my mom's place to wish her Happy Mother's Day.

OH! I got an "A" in my class at Concordia. Bugger. My GPA is still not high enough. It is 3.32. I need it to be 3.50 so I can write my thesis. Now I am stuck to do more classes than I have time for. There is no way I can do them in the two years I have left.

"Outside!"

This is the newest word that I have heard from Liam today over breakfast. M-SB hade crepes and we had a good old time. Liam is still learning that Cloak is a cranky old man that has pretty much had it with little children. Cloak slapped Liam in the face when the hugging got too much.

M-SB and I have seen the adoption criteria.... We both need to be at least 30 years old (another 2-3 years for M-SB). There has to be a minimum of $30-40k income for the household (oy... whenever THAT will be *sigh*). We have to be married for a 3-5 years (We will be 4 years in October). The adoption procedure can take as long as a year to complete and cost between $9k and $35k. *ouch* And, at the moment, there are more boys for adoption than girls. So... we wait. We can prepare and wait.

Besides... after last nights strange pop pop pop noises yesterday that sound like a small gun firing off around 11:30pm, I think I want to move before I really consider kids. LaSalle was definately not my choice of living space... and especially not near 90th Avenue were this sort of thing is "normal". But the house is beautiful and the neighbors exceptional... and the general street I am on is fantastic. Just, you don't want to be OFF this street (a couple blocks over) outside your car if it is very late out.

Anyways, during the day, it is wonderful. The garden is popping up with flowers and herbs. I need to get some more things for my little garden to replace the annuals and the few things that did not survive the winter. Maybe next weekend.

Today after breakfast, M-SB and I took a walk along the waterfront. It is it first time in more than 5 years. It was wonderful. I so so missed that. I think after coven today, we will do it again while the weather is incredible. Maybe head over to the duck area and see if there are ducks about.

Time to go, coveners are coming over soon and I need a bite to eat before they arrive.

News

My ball python, Timid, will have a new home as of Thursday evening. Thank you to both Eri and Gordon for choosing to adopt him. I am sure that Gordon's daughter Gillian will adore him.

I am in negotiations for Zuko, the marbled gecko. Home *A* is considering him. If home *A* chooses not to take him, then home *B* will take him at the end of May or beginning of June.

OMG we are May already!

Still no news on my grades. I am discouraged. I had a peer review my paper and now I think my paper sucked more than I originally thought. *sigh* This analysis crap... I am not good at. I am so much better at expose's and ethnograthies. *cry* I hope my teacher is forgiving and still gives me a good grade.

The editing of my fanfic still continues. Round 3 now. And I should have the next 3 chapters up by Minday. I hope!

I did not get the rent tax thingy on Friday. But I have the tel# to call about getting it. *sigh*

So my news is mixed. Ninja, the new kitty is doing great. The others have all gotten used to him. Now he and Tsuki play and cause trouble together.

I am off to make supper with M-SB and watch some anime. Then go for a walk and look for a stick for each of us for our ritual tomorrow. It is such a nice night out for a walk. And we haven't walked by the water here in AGES!

All kinds of update stuffs

Where do I begin...

School... the ongoing saga of financial chaos. I thought it was all sorted out. Well, I am allowed to register. My tuition was deferred till the student laon pays it. The student loan however is being suspended... AGAIN... because they need my spousal income declaration from line # (whatever) from the 2006 taxes. *sigh* So now we are trying to get our tax stuff together. Mine is together, so is M-SB's. All we have to do is get the housing tax thingy from our old apartment and do a spreadsheet of the CMS finances. It is the weekend project. I call the guy next week to get it done.

Work... Work at the store continues. Work at the elementary school... YAY! I have 3 days this week. Kinda in a row (Thursday and Friday and then Monday) with the more usual Grade 6 class in the classroom that does not make me feel filthy and claustraphobic. I also applied to be a TA for next term at Concordia. Everyone cross your fingers for me. It is a foot in the door.

Home... I have begun to purge my office. Six hours yesterday to clear a small corner and rid 3 boxes (and most of their contents). The spring cleaning frenzy is getting demoralizing. The dust factor in here is so bad I want to cry. I dusted the bedroom 2 days ago and the same thick layer of dust is back! We vacuumed and all the floor not more that 4 days again and it looks like we haven't done a thing. I so so want to cry. Part of it is new kitten and the chaos that comes with that as new kitten knocks things over and plays with everything. There is thus much spillage of stuff and scattering of cat/kitten food. *cry*

Family... M-SB and I have had our first family talk. I will be looking into the locations and information on how to go about adopting a girl from China. It doesn't mean it will happen immediately. These things take time and money. But we are going to start now. Kinda get the ball rolling. We are considering a girl between the ages of 3 and 5 or 6. I have wanted to do this since I found out it was possible in 1991. That is a long time to want to adopt a girl from China. We are ready feeling now. *so excited*

So... Today's plan...
1- breakfast
2- clean kitchen *again*
3- purge more office
4- lunch
5- clean bedroom
6- purge more office
7- pack for an overnight with Roo
8- stop by old apartment to see about rent tax thingy
9- go to Melange to get bag I forgot with all my fanfic notes and stuff
10- dinner at Roo's and roleplaying

Saturday's plan...
1- home around 1pm (no later)
2- outing to get stuff for Beltane ritual with coven
3- discuss plans for coven discussion
4- dinner
5- do tax spreadsheet
6- clean anything needed before breakfast in the morning

Sunday's plan...
1- breakfast with the neighbors (our turn to cook)
2- private coven meeting
3- co-coven Beltane ritual
4- review tax stuff and call guy for a Tuesday appointment (if i have housing tax thingy)

Timid (my ball python) Needs a Home

Hi everyone,

I am in need of some serious changing of space. And thus I have had to make some hard decisions. One such decision is the need to find homes for some of my reptiles.

Ball Python
Named: Timid
Sweet shy temper
eats only live mice (don't even bother trying to feed him rats or anything frozen... he won't eat them)
he hybernates from October to May with maybe one round of wanting food in early December or late January
Comes with tank, heat pad, and driftwood to climb
He costs nothing. Was a rescue adoptee and as he came into a loving home, I hope he goes to a loving home.
He is about 7 years old... though that is just a guess.
My time does not allow me to give him the attention that he needs and so I wish to find him a home where he can get more attention and care.

I may have a marbled gecko needing a home too, but he might already be spoken for.

Contact me at: cougora@sympatico.ca
I will happily drive him anywhere with all his stuff (in or near Montreal, Quebec)
