Improving

I hurt less. Been trying to not lift things, not bend up and down alot, and trying to just plain get lots fo relaxed rest. Resting is boring. Did you know that?! I AM BORED!!!

So I plunked myself at the computer to roleplay and work of the Avatar forum I help run. When I got bored there, I washed some dishes, made the bed, and readied the laundry to go down. Not going to carry it. Just put the stuff in it.

Then I came back to the computer and reworked my CV and a cover Letter tyo take to the school. It is that time of year again, where I have to remind schools that I exist. I don't have much choice. I need more money. I was not able to get an extra day of work. Working nights is not possible as that is my best writing time and I need that for my paper.

Now I am bored again and tired.

And so folks know. Yes. I still hurt. The doctor gave me anti-inflammatory pills that don't seem to be doing squat and super painkillers that stop the hurt so i can sleep. But I still hurt. *pouts*

So here is the randomness while I show Eri how to posy pictures...

Ups and Downs

Well, I have has some great ups this week and recently a serious down.

The ups:
My paper and my questionnaire were accepted. I need to complete the Ethic Board stuff for interviewing people. I need to get the taxes done today and before Tuesday, get both handed into their respective peoples.

I have finished reading Harry Potter. It was shocking. The news I got from someone that the book dropped random hints of stuff annoyingly... well, I didn't find the stuff random or annoying. The book was amazing. Now I can go back and finish rereading Poison Study for the third time.

I was given a reference to an amazing young woman in McGill who does professional house cleaning for a reasonable rate. I look to hire her once she comes back from her vacation. Once every second week... can and will be squeazed out of the budget for my sanity.

Max... Roo big FAT cat... let me pick him up and CUDDLE him!!! I feel so priveleged that he trusted me thus.

The down:
I picked up Roo's big fat cat. He's heavy. He's unexpectedly heavier than you expect. *excuse the redundancy of that* I picked him up "badly"... badly for my body apparently. Several things went POP in my lower back and across my hips. I now know a new level of pain to guage my thresholds. If it doesn't ease over today, I will see a doctor. I expect I will be seeing a doctor on Monday as it is much MUCH worse today than it was last night. I did not sleep a wink. Not a single wink. What do you say to a doctor when they ask, "so how did you hurt your back?" It seems rediculous to say, "I picked up a cat."

A Month?

Has it been almost a month? I blinked at my birthday and suddenly we are the middle of August!! OMGs!!! Well, let's see if I can recap ... anything...

First week of August:
Went to KG Fest August 1-6. It was AMAZING! I got to hang out with folks I so rarely see. I gave 3 workshops which went very well (despite my incredible nervousness at giving the chakra intro). The first three days I suffered a mix of heat/sun stroke and am grateful for the 1-hr swim in the shady pool each day. The store made a profit there and will be doing it again next year!! Which is a miracle as we were stuck in the very back in the secondary vending area that no one really goes to. It was on the other side of the Valhalla Cafe. I joked that our vending booth was on the other side of Valhalla where the dead didn't even go. Just the same, we did decently. Samantha and I also had some of our own consignment stuff. Those did well too! I put a downpayment on a Maple Archery Bow. I have another $100 yet to pay on it and it will be shipped to me sometime in the fall. The guy who makes them gathers a bunch of stuff and sets up to carve them right there! But I didn't want any of the woods he had.

I was frazzled when I got home and the days kinda blurred into each other and I worked hard on getting my paper proposal together for my teacher.

M-SB and I went to his mom's place last weekend where I worked more on the paper (sigh). In the end, he and I had in interesting chat ... oh... about a wedding ceremony sometime in the spring and about... children... More on this sometime... later...

This week, I have worked MANY days at the store. It was enjoyable to do so. I met with my teacher today and my paper is accepted!! YAY!!!

Paper:
Conversion without Prosyletizing: Why People Have Converted to Paganism and Wicca

Anyways...

Roo is off to GenCon and I am caring for her cats.
Avatar season three comes out September 21st.
And I finally have my own copy of the last of the Harry Potter books.
