Vacation Day 6

After the morning shock, I got down to more sorting and cleaning.

I took all the tools downstairs and did more laundry. Well... re dried yesterday's laundry as the dryer sucks for some reason this week. I emptied the hall closet and cleaned inside and trashed crap that was there. OMG! with the tools downstairs... there is SO MUCH ROOM in there. It looks like a real usable coat closet! I then swept and mopped the hall.

I worked on some more fanfic and printed stuff for my taxes.

Now I am off to pay my summer fees and change my school course to one I am more certain I will like. "Scripture" in Buddhism and Hinduism. It is with a teacher I like alot, Leslie Orr. She is a tough teacher, but I respond well to her. I really wish I could put my schooling first in my life without starving. Then I might have actually had a TA positionfor the Witchcraft course. That is my dream position and my friend Rafael has it this term. *sigh* I wish him the best of luck with it. Sometimes I feel like I live a series of missed oppotunities. *sigh again*

On my way back from paying for school, I will drop off my taxes to be done and collect the husband from work. He is borroring his work Shop Vac to clear out the dryer vent in the hopes that it will solve the dryer problem. While he does that, I will wash dishes and do hand washing. Then... we take apart the linen closet and sort it.

My evening plan after that includes brutalizing the bathroom, sorting the art box in the hall and preparing materials for CMS's Open House tomorrow.

Can I have another 5-7 days between now and tomorrow?

EDIT
Ok... not doing hand washing tonight. I am going to do it in the morning. I do not want the spiders to think I have set up a new decorated condo for them overnight. Temporarily skipping the rest of the cleaning in favor of preparing CMS stuff.

Cut Off

That's it. I am cut off. I will not be able to get loans & bursaries for school anymore. Just got my application assessment. I have been refused beacause I have "exhausted the allowable months of assistance for study."

Well, I hope between me and M-SB that the tax refund is good.

I was hoping to maybe cut my house by a day or two and tackle 2 classes for school. Now I don't dare. Starving is not on my list of things to do. I will see if I can shift over to being a part-time MA student and see if that helps.

Vacation Day 5 - frustrated

I was up at a reasonable hour and handled some internet stuffs, including a small fun play on ponystars. After the husband left for work, I cleaned a shelf in the livingroom and had help moving it down a flight of stairs. I then put some stuff on it.

I put together my taxes and realized that I can't find the tax guy's number. *AARRGGHH*
I will keep looking.

I had lunch of a toasted cheese sandwich and admired the new microwave while I ate. It really is spiffy. I am in the middle of doing laundry. 2 loads going... several yet to go. I might do hand washing later today. I sorted out the upper part of the messy hall closet. Some stuff to add to the Sally-Ann bag.

Back here for a brief break. I have an email saying I can't register because I am restricted. *ARGH* I have to pay stuff for last semester. Now I have to find $460... on top of the late fees for the library. Can I just die now? I did finally make my application for Loans & Bursaries, but they won't complete my assessment till I get my taxes done. *ARGH*

I want to stomp around and scream.

OH... and Bell messed up my sympatico payment arrangements and so i was not yet charged for internet. The people I called to understand the situation were LESS THAN HELPFUL and almost impossible to understand through their foreign accents.

This day is full of GRRRRRR! ~ and it is only 3:30pm~ *sigh*

EDIT
Just spent the last hour on the phone with the bank to see if I can borrow money somehow.
Visa siad I had increased my limit in May and will have to wait 6 months before they will permit another limit increase. They sent me to see about increasing my student line of credit. That couls not be increased because I am already over some % of income vs debt amount. So finally, I did the very painful thing of liquidating my RSP and resetting it to take $25 a month again. I can pay for school tomorrow. *sigh*

At least I will be registered before September and be able to get my student loans and bursaries. OH ... geez... taxes... Have to find that number.

ANOTHER EDIT
Thanks Autumn for the number. I have left a message and hope to get a call back. I also got a call back for my car insurance. It is MUCH less than expected. Still not in this week's budget, but is in next week's budget. The RSP is liquidated and I will have $$ for school tomorrow. I will go down to the school tomorrow and pay for it and get registered.

I emptied a big box of storage crap. BLEH! Asphoeteda was packed in that box by accident!
Tried to make a tea that tasted very ick. Oh well. Tea bag round one was delicious, tea bag round two... never do again.

I think I will go deposit my paychck now, pay mom my car payment, and get some groceries... like cat food, cat litter and supper... and something to cheer me up with.

Vacation Day 4

I slept in. OMG that was wonderful. I slept in till noon. I wrote another fanfic chapter then rushed out to Concordia to to meet my advisor.

He is still not keen about me doing Pagan stuff. I think he is going to try to redirect me. Anyways, I am currently registered for Theories of Sacrifice. The teacher is a Christian focused teacher, so I might not like the class. I met Professor Orr and she told me about her class. She will be teaching Theories of Scripture in Buddhism and Hinduism. It sounds WAY more interesting. I will go to it and think about it. Then maybe switch classes.

I came home and did the super cleaning of the stairwell. I moved things to the basement. I moved things to the office. I moved things to the car. I moved things into the house. I picked up and shook things out. I swept. I mopped. I replaced things way neater. I was EXHAUSTED. That was the end of cleaning.

I got back into the Avatar Fan Forum volunteering that I do. I bragged more about my Pai Sho Board. I helps sort out some ideas of a Mature section in the forum. And discussed some difficult members and how the admins will handle them.

I closed the day with Polish Peach Wine and a discussion with the BFC Candian Hearstone.

All and all.... A good day today.

OH! And my taxes are FINALLY ready to just GO. I have to print some pages from an excel file and call the tax guy... and deliver them. HUZZAH!

Vacation Day 3

Monday was BUSY! I drove the husband to work so I could borrow his bus pass.

Then wandered NDG for a nibble and hopped the bus and metro to Place Bonaventure. I wasn't going to go this week, but curiosity called me and so I went. I went to the Montreal Gift Show. I saw so many NEAT ideas. I fell in love with lavender dark chocolate.

I barely made it back to NDG on time to drop off the bus pass and get my car. Then rushed back downtown to do dinner with a friend who might be teaching CMS Level 2. By the end of it, we were fairly set. We went to the new Odaki Restaurant. Good food, odd expereince, a bit too pricy for what we got.

Vacation Day 2

Saturday night I was so tired from the walking around all day as a tourist with Roo and my New York friends, that I went to bed yearly.

Sunday morning I remembered why I don't go to bed early. I woke at 5:30am. I went to a staff meeting at 10:00am and came home to spend another couple hours typing up minutes.

Then headed out to my parents to visit with them and my brother's family, drop off big blankets to wash and pick up a shnazzy new stainless steel microwave. My younger nephew, Aaron has discovered the love of water (filling a bowl from the hose outside and dumping it). I remember reading the boss's daughter doing the same. Aaron and Ainsley are about the same age. My older nephew still doesn't talk to me, however I did have progress! He played a videogame with me and pointed at buttopns on my controller so I can play with him. I forgot to bring him model car to build. Oops. I have two still here for him. Maybe I will mail one as a surprise.

I came home to finish a fanfiction chapter and enjoy the evening.

My dad is AWESOME

I have the most incredible dad... He made a Pai Sho board for me! It folds in the middle with hinges on the bottom. He has yet to finish the outside edge and then he is putting on handles so I can carry it folded in half wherever I go.

SQUEEE!!!

He will be making me 40 x 2 blank tiles to build 2 sets for playing with.

I am so excited, you have NO IDEA!!!

Vacation Day 1

Ya... I am on vacation.

It started out slow. I had a had time waking up and was glad to get to sleep in. The day had a small hiccup as I missed a turn and was stuck in construction detour mania. I had to go almost all the way home and start the route again. *groan*

After that, it was AMAZING! I was contacted by some friends from New York who were in town. Robyn and I met up with them and we toured China town. We had Dim Sum for lunch and I picked up some Dragon Beard Candy. Then we watched people at the Notre Dame basilica in Old Montreal for a little bit as we decided what to do. The decision... a coleche ride. It was like playing ponystars IRL. We had a white pony with pink mane and pink hooves. I am not kidding! When I get my photos moved about, I will post them here for you to see. There was a First Settlers Weekend thing going on in the Old Port this weekend hosted by both the History and the Archeaology Museums of Montreal. That was an AMAZING experience! We stopped in for tea at our favorite tea house. (Thanks Syl for pointing it out to us.) We toured this First Settles event and saw and tasted so many neat historicla things. Yes, I have a ton of photos. I also have a new cat statue to add to mu collection, a pretty new back to carry my crap in, and a special treat for coven Mabon ritual.

Tomorrow I have a staff meeting followed by coven meeting. So much planning on both fronts for the coming year. It will be a busy busy day.

My grandmother called me. She and I have hardly talked or seen each other in a very very long while. I keep meaning to see her, but I am just too busy. And of the times I have asked her out, she has not really been in the mood.

My mom has been trying to get me to visit her for the last 3 weeks. I am going to try to manage it tomorrow evening.

Tomorrow evening, Mark and I have planned to work on the thanks yous to everyone who was part of our handfasting. Trust me, you have not been forgotten. I am thrilled that you were all there. Thanks.

So... I am on vacation! (excluding tomorrow's busy day).
Now is the time to book some time with me!!
Monday is a cleaning day, a tax day and a relax day.
Monday night I have been claimed by Frank for dinner.
Friday is preparations and planning for CMS and the Open House.
The weekend... I am running away camping. Something private Robyn and I do over Labour Day weekend each year. The managers run away and cannot be reached for 2 days.
In between... steal me as you can! I hope to visit family and coven folks and maybe spend time with my husband.

Painfully Productive

Today I got a ton done!

I got into the store around 10:30am and handled some store/order stuff. Then I handled my personal stuff.

I faxed my driving record off to the car insurance place so I can arrange for car insurance. I photocopied chapters from books for my thesis. I photocopied and mailed off my ultrasound receipt to the health insurance place to hopefully get some money back. I returned my very overdue books to the library. I now owe like $260 to the library. OUCH! *sigh* I have a phone number of someone to call next week to try to arrange a deal of some kind cuz that is like CRAZY! I poked in to the school bookstore but didn't find anything interesting or useful. I headed to my school depeartment but there was a temp in who new very little today. The class I am thinking of taking is "Theory and Practice of Sacrifice in Religions" and didn't have much of a write-up. I have to go by tomorrow and talk to people... not during their lunch breaks. I deposited my paycheck at the bank., I stopped into Health Services to make an appointment with my doctor and to see if anyone could tell me about the test results.

TEST RESULTS: all came back normal

I called and cancelled the November ultrasound. I headed back and got Cont. Ed course agendas so Mark and I can look if there is anything interesting. I am far less inclined to take anything. I have stuff to take and pay for. I picked up school/office supplies to rework some things at the store. I did said reworking (more to do tomorrow). AND I met with Frank about teaching stuff. I have a plan to meet with him on Monday over dinner to discuss and plan. I will chat with WinterWolf too about teaching (on Sunday) and see when he can do this. I feel like I am getting back into the swing of some things. YAY! I even nearly completed a fanfic chapter. It is just waiting for someone else's tidbit to insert. I ran the store mail out to the post office also.

Such a busy day. I got so much done.

Now I have to do some budgeting and pay some things. OMG!!! I am on vacation after tomorrow! I have to plan tomorrow free lecture and the weekend work I have.

Max, my friend is coming in from out of town. OH! must go charge the cell phone so he can reach me.

*groan*

Last night... was not a good night. I can't get into most of it.

I thought I would wake up feeling better, having gotten a good deal of sleep. However, my back still hurts, I feel deathly exhausted, I'm mildly nauseous. I feel like I am sick with something and yet not. I have no fever, no sniffles, not even a headache. I just feel really really off.

I wish I could stay home and just sleep all day.

KG High Points

Firgured I should mention the really big high points of KG.

Pink VS Fighting Salmon
During the beginning of the fest, Sam's friend John had the interest in wearing pink. Hobbes was horrified that a guy would like to wear such a color. They argued about pink on and off. John was more than comfortable calling the color pink and wearing it. Hobbes insisted that Pink is an ok color for a girl to wear, but if a guy wore it, he had to at least call it fighting salmon. They bandied this back and forth till they finally decided to have a full out duel! Out came the boffo weapons. Hobbes took up his quarter staff. John took up a long sword. The battle was on. In the end, John lost. Now John has to call the color pink "fighting Salmon". The battle was amazing! I was sure John would win being a fast lithe guy. However, Hobbes surprised us all with great skill!!

Silver & Special
Throughout the fest, I coveted a gorgeous knife made by Helmut. It cost way too much for my current budget. Every day, I showed it off to people. Every day I went and petted it. It was so beautiful and called to me so strongly. The hilt is an unpronouncible rare African wood. The cross piece is vegetable ivory. The blade is solid silver. It is a bit blade-heavy, however, I like my blades like that. The energy was incredible. It resonated with my like no other blade I have ever touched. On the day we packed up to go, I said a sad farewell to the blade and prayed that perhaps at Yule, I will be able to afford it and get it for myself as a Yule gift. However... the surprise that shocked the nine hells out of me was that my boss, Debra, procured the knife in a clandestine arrangement while she purchased a bunch of bollines from him to sell at the store. I nearly died when she put it in my hand. I could not believe it. I kinda still can't! The blade is a SHE. And SHE has a name, although I haven't been graced with what that name is... yet. She remains on my altar where I pet her daily and lend her my energy in preparation for dedication. She is present for rituals but not used in them. Not yet. In three months, she will be ready. Then I will dedicate her fully and she will be my main athame. Thank you Debra for such a breath-taking gift. It means alot to me, more than I think you understand.

Oh... no news? Is that good?

Well, I still have zero news about the ultrasound and bloodtests I did. The ultrasound specialist didn't think he saw anything of consequence. looked all normal to him. The bloodtest... who knows. I guess I will call this week for an appointment. My knees are still on the slow healing. Some days are better than others. Still have no idea why the ankle has been so painful. It has been that way on and off all summer for no apparent reason. Feels like a sprained it very badly. Sometimes swells a bit but never enough to be sure. I don't want to see my doctor for something phantom. I feel rediculous. She'll think I am a joint hypocondriac or something.

Still not pregnant.
I am wondering if maybe the hubby and I should see a doctor about it.
Private convo for later.

Delayed...

I know... I know... It has been a while. We are the 17th and you have all wondered what is up since more than a week ago.

I went to KG and it was great!
You can check out the store blog for some pictures.

Monday coming back from KG sucked hard core. I cramped the worst I have ever cramped in years. We didn't get to leave till about 5pm because of it.

Work has been crazy and busy. I have been so busy that I haven't even gotten basic stuff at home done. This is making me alot freaky.

I did finally get a couple days of roleplaying with Roo this weekend. Ran a bunch of errands. I finally have a pair of black jeans... been wanting to get to a store and get some for like 2 months. I also brought Tsuki to Melange for a few hours. I don't think I will do that again. He is just not as comfortable with strangers as my other cats are. I might try one of the others another day.

I can't wait for my vacation. OMG I need it so fucking badly.

I slept oddly and so now I can add pain in my back and shoulder to the pain in my ankle. Hauling TWO heavy bags of cat little on the pulled shoulder the other day really didn't help, but I had little choice, the litter was desperately needed.

I am tired, have zero appetite, and really hurt. Know you know how I feel, please do not bother to ask.

I am having a ritual this afternoon and pray the painkillers kick in soon. Graduating several level 1 students and a level 2 student... maybe 3 of them? I feel vert out of the loop and look forward to being more involved in the teaching of students this semester. This coming September there will be THREE levels of CMS. YAY!!!
